Troubleshooting

 

These are a few known problems and ways to correct or work around them. If you have difficulty with the site, please send an e-mail to n-man@freedomgroup.org explaining your problem.

1. Dealing with frames

Sometimes the frames may disappear while using various sections. If you are in the forums, and the frames disappear, clicking the "Freedom Group" title at the top of the page will restore the frames. If you are at another site, such as the TalkCity chat, you may have to return to this site by pointing your browser to www.freedomgroup.org.

2. Unable to log in or remain logged in to forums

If you are using Internet Explorer and are having difficulties with logging in, you can try the following:

1. Open Internet Explorer

2. Click the 'Tools' menu

3. Click 'Internet Options'

4. Click the 'Privacy' tab

5. Adjust the slider to 'Low'

The problem is caused by the way Internet Explorer handles certain 'cookies' and prevents the site from remembering your log on. This solution may also correct login problems with some other sites.

3. Unable to use chat (ChatSafe program)

The chat room, being provided by TalkCity, is currently listed under their "ChatSafe" program. This means that only paid members of TalkCity can access it right now. I am working on correcting this and giving everyone access, but it may take time.

4. Unable to use chat (other problems)

There are many known problems with TalkCity chatrooms. If you are having difficulty using the chat, and are not being stopped by the ChatSafe program, you can use the TalkCity help system from the talkcity.com main page.
